When spring arrives, the good rain knows its season and comes. It follows the wind secretly into the night and moistens all things softly without a sound.
On the afternoon of 12th March, at Anqing Foreign Language School’s east campus, the continuous patter of spring rain moistened flowers and plants. At the School Lecture Hall, more than 500 parents from both the east and west campuses gathered together to attend the 4th Session Home-School Forum organized by Anqing Foreign Language School. During the forum, Principal Assistant Lu Dan issued a keynote speech entitled ‘Expand Knowledge, Follow ceremonies and Cultivate the Elite Temperament’. Meanwhile, Vice Principal Liu Bing chaired the grand event. More noticeably, President Madam Huang Wenli was in attendance and participated entirely through the lecture.
First of all, Principal Assistant Lu Dan, who once won the first prize in the Chinese Demonstration Class Competition in national level, also obtained honorary titles of the 1st Session Teaching Expert in Anqing City, the 3rd Session Key Teacher in Anqing City in addition to the Outstanding Party Member in the educational system in Anqing City. Therefore, Principal Assistant Lu not only made remarkable achievement in education and teaching, but also had a deep research into family education.
Second of all, during the one-and-a-half-hour lecture, in combination with school’s actual status and his own experience, Principal Assistant Lu centered on the theme ‘Expand Knowledge, Follow Ceremonies and Cultivate the Elite Temperament’ and exchanged with parents the new concept of home education as well as how to enhance the home-school collaboration.
Third of all, Principal Assistant Lu Dan stressed that the essence of education was just like agriculture instead of industry, which meant that the greatest significance of education was rooted in awakening. As a result, both family and school education were supposed to stick to the principle of ‘Moral Education First, More Importance Attached to Abilities& Integrated Development’.
Fourth of all, Principal Assistant Lu Dan suggested parents exploit their children ’s leadership skills by means of cultivating their favorable reading habits and encouraging them to take part in various kinds of practical activities so that children can demonstrate their elite temperament. With all the scientific theoretical analysis and specific episode analysis, Principal Assistant Lu set forth the theme of the lecture, which made the audience enlightened and benefit a lot in the meantime!
Fifth of all, after the keynote speech, full of devotion towards education, Anqing Foreign Language School’s President Madam Huang Wenli put forward some valuable proposals in which Madam President advised parents to integrate the overall situation with details in family education in that when it came to children ’s moral character training, parents should never let go each detail. However, they were supposed not to lay too much stress on their children ’s test scores.
In summary, the home-school forum concluded in a satisfactory way, which not only further promoted communication, exchange and cooperation between family and school, but also was bound to create a more suitable environment for students’ benefit!
